Busy Little Bee

I'm sure you've noticed that I have been away from this very special blog of mine.

Sorry for being so out of the loop. I have been extremely busy working and celebrating the holidays with loved ones. I'm back and ready to get back into gear.

Over the holidays, I made numerous POST IT Notebooks {that I hoped to post on this site} and in five days most of them were gone. I'm definitely not complaining.... I am grateful that people recognized the usefulness of these petite notebooks and thought of it when deciding on gifts.

The pictures below are a few POST IT Notebooks from my recent order:

Hump Day Quotes/ Inspiration {12/2/09}: Why Marriage?

WHY MARRIAGE?
Because to the depths of me, I long to love one person,
With all my heart, my soul, my mind, my body...
...Because I need a forever friend to trust with the intimacies of me,
Who won't hold them against me,
Who loves me when I'm unlikable,
Who sees the small child in me, and
Who looks for the divine potential of me...
...Because I need to cuddle in the warmth of the night
With someone who thanks God for me,
With someone I feel blessed to hold...
...Because marriage means opportunity
To grow in love in friendship...
...Because marriage is a discipline
To be added to a list of achievements...
...Because marriages do not fail, people fail
When they enter into marriage
Expecting another to make them whole...

...Because, knowing this,
I promise myself to take full responsibility
For my spiritual, mental and physical wholeness
I create me,I take half of the responsibility for my marriage
Together we create our marriage...

...Because with this understanding
The possibilities are limitless.

Hump Day Quotes/ Inspiration {11/18/09}: The Perfect Love

PERFECT LOVE

Everyone longs to give themselves completely to someone. To have a deep soul relationship with another, to be loved thoroughly and exclusively. But God to the Christian says, "No, not until you're satisified and fulfilled and content with living, loved by Me alone and giving yourself totally and unreservedly to Me, to have an intensely personal and unique relationship with Me alone.

"I love you, My child, and until you discover that only in Me is your satisfaction to be found, you will not be capable of the perfect human relationship that I have planned for you. You will never be united with another until you are united with Me -- exclusive of anyone or anything else, exclusive of any other desires or belongings.

"I want you to stop planning, stop wishing, and allow Me to bring it to you. You just keep watching Me, expecting the greatest things. Keep learning and listening to the things I tell you. You must wait.

"Don't be anxious and don't worry. Don't look around at the things you think you want. Just keep looking off and away up to Me, or you'll miss what I have to show you.

"And then, when you're ready, I'll surprise you with a love far more wonderful than any you would ever dream. You see, until you are ready and until the one I have for you is ready, I am working this minute to have both of you ready at the same time, and until you are both satisfied exclusively with Me and the life I've prepared for you, you won't be able to experience the love that exemplifies your relationship with Me, and this is perfect love.

"And dear one, I want you to have this most wonderful love. I want you to see in the flesh a picture of your relationship with Me, and to enjoy materially and concretely the everlasting union of beauty and perfection and love that I offer you with Myself. Know I love you. I am God Almighty, believe and be satisfied."

Hump Day Wedding Quotes/ Inspiration {11/11/09}: Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up. Again, if two lie together, they are warm; but how can one be warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him.

Hump Day Wedding Quotes/ Comedy {08/5/09}: Whatever You Give a Woman

Whatever you give a woman, she will make greater.
If you give her sperm, she'll give you a baby.
If you give her a house, she'll give you a home.
If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal.
If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart.
She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her
...so, if you give her any crap, be ready to receive a ton of s***.

Another Project - My last Step

My final project is in the works and boy is it a handful. But I love it. I love seeing my vision come to life ... and to believe it is made out of clay. Who would have thought that making clay cupcakes would be so much work. More to do before it is done. So back to work.

Transitioning... to a New Blogging Home!!!

Hello Blogging Family,

You may have noticed a lot of changes to this little blog over the past couple of months. Well, I'm finally ready to get serious about this blogging business and thought it was time to update my blog. I redesigned my old blog and decided to go with a design that had clean lines and some of my favorite colors. I also elected to have a new blog header.

I am transitioning most of my posts from a previous blog to this one... especially the Wednesday quotes/comedy. I figured I would start fresh but not lose a lot of the information I have accumulated that may interest people. I also decided to keep a lot of the previous content related to other things {i.e. Bridal Show Planning, etc}.

So if you are interested in taking a cruise down memory lane, please feel free. I will continue my Wednesday Hump Day postings because I enjoy reading some of the quotes, scriptures, comedy phases, etc. that I find about marriage, love, relationships, and life.

If you have a Hump Day quote that you would like to add to our listing, please send me an email with the following information:

  1. Quote/ Scripture
  2. Author
  3. Your Name & Blog Address {if applicable}

Note: Please do not send quotes or information that may be considered offessive. It will not be posted!!!

I will add your post to our evergrowing list.

Thank you!!!!

GRAND ENTRANCE: Now This Is How You Do It!!!!!

I'm not sure how you feel but personally, I feel that a bride and groom should make their wedding their own. A wedding is suppose to be about the bride and the groom....right? So why get so caught up in all the superficial hype? At the end of the day, it has nothing to do with the decor, the dresses, the cake, or the atmosphere. It is about the Union. between two people.

I say leave the traditions behind and forego all of the superstition, and make the wedding your own.

I think that's what this couple did, they made the wedding their own. Please check it out and let me know what you think.

Bridal Show Mania: Strategize and Be Prepared

Bridal Shows can be great source of information, but it can also be very overwhelming. There are so many booths and so much information that it is hard to focus on any one vendor or service. A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of attending a bridal show with one of my closest friends.

We arrived early which was great because after we walked up to the line, I realized that we had a crowd of people behind us waiting to get in. The moment we walked into the hall I became overwhelmed. I guess it had a lot to do with the number of attendees, booths, and people ready to tell me about their "must have" service.

But I took my time and jotted notes along the way. My notes consisted of what I liked and what I will do differently on my next bridal show outing. I thought I would share my experiences and some bridal show advice with you.

Here is some words of wisdom:

Know what vendors will be there. You can do this by looking online before the event. If you are unable to research this ahead of time, review the Bridal Show booklet that is at the registration desk prior to going into the show. Mark off the vendors you are really interested in seeing. If you need to meet with all of them, at least you know who is there?
Take a friend or two. I also recommend taking your mom and fiance to at least one bridal show. It is nice to see the bride/ groom of mother/ daughter walking around discussing plans for the wedding day. This way they will feel a part of the planning process without actually planning anything. You will also be able to see who has the same ideas you have and who is going the opposite direction.
Get there early. 15-20 minutes. I know that is early for some but believe me, you will be better off because you won't get irritated by the 50 women in front of you taking their time going in.
When you walk in, I know your first instinct is to follow the masses. DON'T. I recommend walking to the end of the bridal show venue and walking backwards. Why? Well first of all, you won't be trampled by the crowd at every booth. You will have more one-on-one time with the vendors because they are not recruiting you and three other brides at the same time. Last but not least, by the time you get to the beginning of the showcase everyone will be in the middle .... again bringing me back to my second point of having more one-on-one time.
Bring Business Cards - I don't mean your company business cards (even though it is always good to network). Bring your wedding day business cards. What are Wedding Day Business Cards? Wedding day business cards are cards that tell the vendor about you, your fiance, and you wedding details. At every booth, the vendor will ask you to fill out some information about you or sign up for a drawing, what better way to get around that than to drop a card in the hat. This will also reduce the amount of information you have to write out. Information to include: Bride and Groom's name, date of wedding, and contact information (address and phone number).
Plan to stay at the Bridal show the entire time so that you can experience all of its services including the fashion show and the drawings.
After the show, find a spot and go through all the bags and discard information that you will not be following up on. No need to take extra stuff home with you.
Stay organized. The moment you get home, file all the "Must Contact" business cards/ pamphlets in your Wedding Planner.
Take a hot bath or just soak your feet because after attending a big bridal show, you may need it.
I hope my advice helps. Please let me know if you have other words of wisdom. I would love to increase my list.

Hump Day Wedding Quotes/ Comedy {06/24/09}: On Your Wedding Day

On Your Wedding Day

Today is a day you will always remember
The greatest in anyone’s life
You’ll start off theday just two people in love
And end it as Husband and wife
It’s a brandnew beginning the start of a journey
With moments to cherish and treasure
And although there’ll be times when you both disagree
These will surelybe outweighed by pleasure
You’ll have heard many words of advice in the past
When the secrets of marriage were spoken
But you know that the answerslie hidden inside
Where the bond of true love lies unbroken
So live happy forever as lovers and friends
It’s the dawn of a new life for you
As you stand there together with love in your eyes
From the moment you whisper ‘I do’
And with luck, all your hopes, and your dreams can be real
May success find its way to your hearts
Tomorrow can bring you thegreatest of joys
But today is the day it all starts.

Hump Day Wedding Quotes/ Comedy {06/17/09}: …His hello was the end of her endings

…His hello was the end of her endings,
Her laugh was their first step down the aisle.
His hand would be hers to hold forever,
His forever was as simple as her smile.
He said she was what was missing.
She said she instantly knew.
He was a question to be answered.A
nd her answer was "I do."

Another "Hump Day" Quote. If you have a quote that you really love and would like to see it featured on the "Hump Day Wedding Quotes/Comedy" series, please contact me or leave a comment.

Once in a Lifetime

You will find someone
Who touches not only your heart
But also your soul
You discover someone
Who stands beside you but not over you
You find someone who loves you for who you are
And not for who you could be
Once in a life time,
If you are lucky
You find someone
As we have found each other

Hump Day Wedding Quotes/ Comedy {05/27/09}: The Art of A Good Marriage

The Art Of A Good Marriage

Happiness in marriage is not something that just happens.
A good marriage must be created.
In marriage the little things are the big things.
It is never being too old to hold hands.
It is remembering to say "I love you" at least once a day.
It is never going to sleep angry.
It is at no time taking the other for granted;
the courtship should not end with the honeymoon, it should continue through
the years.
It is having a mutual sense of values and common objectives.
It is standing together facing the world.
It is forming a circle of love that gathers the whole family.
It is doing things for each other, not in the attitude of duty or
sacrifice, but in the spirit of joy.
It is speaking words of appreciationand demonstrating gratitude in
thoughtful ways.
It is not looking for perfection in each other.
It is cultivating flexibility, patience, understanding and a sense of
humour.
It is having the capacity to forgive and forget.
It is giving each other an atmosphere in which each can grow old.
It is a common search for the good and the beautiful.
It is establishing a relationship in which the independence is
equal, dependence is mutual and the obligation is reciprocal.
It is not only marrying the right partner, it is being the right
partner.
